What is unusual about your hometown, workplace or job?

We are kind of in the middle of nowhere. We are about 20 minutes from Penn State, about an hour from Harrisburg, the state capitol.

What does this year’s theme, “Everybody’s Union” mean to you?

Everyone has a voice, everyone has a say. For the longest time, until I got involved in the union, I felt like I didn’t have a voice. Now I am pushing myself to get out there and learn more.

What issues will be important when your Local’s contract expires?

Wages are big right now, of course. We have a good retirement plan and good health care, and we want to build on that and get to where other hospitals are on wages.

What’s your go-to dance move?

Ha ha! My arms go. I wave my hands in the air.

Every leader has a good tune to walk out to when introduced. What’s your walk-up song?

“Milkshake,” by Kelis.

Who would you most like to have dinner with, and why: Jennifer Lopez, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, George R.R. Martin, Liz Cheney, Michael Jordan, or Drake?

Probably J-Lo. She just seems so personable and she’s always out there.

What things have you done or hope to do while you’re here?

While I am in Vegas, I’d love to see the Beatles’ “Love” show by Cirque du Soleil. That is on my bucket list. My dad was a huge Beatles fan and that sticks with me.

Have you yet decided how you will put the convention to work when you return home?

Communication. That’s something I’ve been trying to work on, to get more people involved and to build a stronger local.
