1. What is unusual about your hometown, place of work or job?

Since 1943, our Local has remained 100 percent union, despite Indiana’s right to work laws.

2. What does this year’s theme, “Everybody’s Union” mean to you?

No matter what position you hold in the union, whether you are a new member, a steward, or the union president, you are still an important part of the foundation of this union.

3. What issues will be important when your Local’s contract expires?

We just got out of bargaining a few months ago. The important issues are the same as in a lot of other places, I’m sure – health care, the pension, and wages are always important. Temporary workers are a hot button issue now as well.

4. What’s your go-to dance move?

I always participate in “The Electric Slide.”

5. Every leader has a good tune to walk out to when introduced. What’s your walk-up song?

“Thunderstruck,” by AC/DC.

6. Who would you most like to have dinner with, and why: Jennifer Lopez, Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson, George R.R. Martin, Liz Cheney, Michael Jordan or Drake?

Out of those characters I would choose The Rock. He is the most intriguing, and he has a hard work ethic. I would like to know what drives him.

7. What things have you done or hope to do while you’re here?

The convention itself is an experience all on its own. This is my first time in Las Vegas, and to say I am overwhelmed would be an understatement. I am looking forward to learning what the convention is all about.

8. Have you yet decided how you will put the convention to work when you return home?

I would love to see everyone, from the newest member to the oldest member, want to get involved and be active in the union. Anyone who attends a union program wants every other member to be able to have that same experience of knowing that you’re a part of something bigger than yourself.
