What is unusual about your hometown, place of work or job?

Our local is made up of primarily women, which is not something you see too often.

What does this year’s theme, “Everybody’s Union” mean to you?

No one is excluded. Not only are we including everyone, we are welcoming everyone too.

What issues will be important when your Local’s contract expires?

The biggest battle we’ve been fighting has been automation, and the elimination of jobs through automation. We’re going to try to keep our hands on it and remind the company that you still need people.

What’s your go-to dance move?

My move is usually just running out onto the dance floor with my hands in the air, like, “Let’s go!”

Every leader has a good tune to walk out to when introduced. What’s your walk-up song?

“Run the World (Girls),” by Beyoncé.

Who would you most like to have dinner with, and why: Jennifer Lopez, Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson, George R.R. Martin, Liz Cheney, Michael Jordan or Drake?

Michael Jordan. Not only is he the greatest basketball player of all time, but he was a great teammate, too. He accomplished so much. I’d love to talk to him about being a leader while also working well with others.

What things have you done or hope to do while you’re here?

As hard as it is being a sergeant at arms at times, you get to see all of the hard work it truly takes to put this convention on.

Have you yet decided how you will put the convention to work when you return home?

I had the chance to go through the USW Officers’ Report, and it puts into perspective everything that the union does. There is so much information in there that can benefit our local in the future.
