What is unusual about your hometown, place of work or job?

We are a small city with a big heart. And our local union board looks like our membership, and I’m proud of that.

What does this year’s theme, “Everybody’s Union” mean to you?

Union means love, it means together, unity, solidarity, and even if you’re not in a union, all of those characteristics still exist outside of the union.

What issues will be important when your Local’s contract expires?

Definitely our pension, that is first. 

What’s your go-to dance move?

The Worm.

Every leader has a good tune to walk out to when introduced. What’s your walk-up song?

“Don’t Hate Me Because I’m Beautiful.”

Who would you most like to have dinner with, and why: Jennifer Lopez, Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson, George R.R. Martin, Liz Cheney, Michael Jordan or Drake?

Michael Jordan. I always had a childhood crush on him. I wasn’t even into basketball, but I loved watching him play.

What things have you done or hope to do while you’re here?

It’s coming up on Monday. I will be included in the opening video, and I’m so excited!

Have you yet decided how you will put the convention to work when you return home?

Every time I attend, I take a lot of notes, and we are required to bring what we learn back to our local union. It’s important not just to attend, but to stay in contact with other locals after it’s over. You can share your views on issues. You can share your stories and experiences with other unions, which is very important.
